Our goal:
Our goal is to strengthen connections between Georgian healthcare institutions, hospitals, physicians, and patients and leading medical institutions and specialists internationally. By building sustainable cross-border medical networks, GATT aims to make international expertise more accessible throughout Georgia and, progressively, across the wider region. We believe that geographical distance should not prevent patients or healthcare professionals from accessing high-quality medical expertise.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make high-quality international medical expertise accessible regardless of location. Through cross-border collaboration with physicians, specialists, and partner institutions in Georgia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United States, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and other countries, GATT facilitates access to specialist consultations, medical second opinions, telemedicine services, and teleradiology expertise. Telemedicine is particularly valuable for patients who cannot easily travel because of illness, geographical distance, financial constraints, or other circumstances. Digital medical collaboration can facilitate faster access to specialist expertise, support more informed clinical decision-making, and potentially reduce unnecessary travel while maintaining continuity of care.

Scientific and International Activities
GATT participates in national and international scientific, medical, and digital-health projects and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, professional education, research, and knowledge exchange. In 2023, GATT achieved an important milestone through its successful participation in the 2023 State Scientific Grant Call for Fundamental Research of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. This achievement reflects our commitment not only to clinical telemedicine but also to scientific research, innovation, and the long-term development of digital healthcare in Georgia.
Connecting Georgia and the South Caucasus with International Medical Expertise
One of GATT's principal objectives is to establish Georgia as an important regional platform for telemedicine and digital healthcare collaboration. By developing telemedical networks and international partnerships, we seek to connect healthcare professionals and institutions throughout Georgia and the wider South Caucasus with medical expertise and institutions around the world. Through GATT, patients and physicians can benefit from international professional exchange, specialist second opinions, interdisciplinary consultations, and teleradiology services without geographical borders becoming an unnecessary barrier to medical collaboration.

The Georgian Association of Teleradiology and Telemedicine (GATT) was founded in 2021 by Prof. Dr. med. George Grigolia. Since its establishment, he has been strongly committed to the development and sustainable advancement of telemedicine, teleradiology, and digital healthcare in Georgia and across the wider region. Through this continuous commitment, GATT has developed a strong international medical network, connecting the Association with renowned medical institutions, hospitals, and highly qualified medical specialists, particularly across Western Europe and other countries worldwide. Through this network, thousands of patients from Georgia with a wide range of medical conditions, including complex and challenging cases, have gained access to high-quality telemedical consultations, teleradiological expertise, and international medical second opinions provided by experienced specialists and trusted partner institutions.
Prof. Dr. Kakha Nadaraia

Since the establishment of the Georgian Association of Teleradiology and Telemedicine (GATT), Prof. Nadaraia has played an important role in advancing telemedicine in Georgia. A particular focus of his work has been on telecardiology and the telemedicine-supported care of patients in intensive care units. Through his strong personal commitment and scientific contributions, GATT was able to receive a significant award in 2023 within a national funding program of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. This achievement represented an important milestone in the scientific and institutional development of the Association.
